Eschewing 3D polygons for high-end sprite art, the game delivers a traditional arcade shooting experience infused with the iconic dogfighting and variable-fighter mechanics that defined the legendary anime franchise.

Players can choose from three distinct pilots and aircraft, perfectly reflecting the core roster of the series. The choices include Isamu Dyson piloting the high-performance YF-19, Guld Bowman flying the brain-wave controlled YF-21, and an unnamed female ace pilot handling the mass-produced standard VF-11.
