Once an opponent is knocked down, players can continue attacking them on the ground or even pick them up and throw them. When two teammates coordinate their movements, they can unleash powerful joint techniques such as electric ball attacks or spinning strikes. The final opponents, the Tiger Mask Brothers, also feature extremely difficult AI, which can be frustrating for newcomers. Even so, the game’s strong sense of impact, innovative character generation, and highly entertaining multiplayer design secured its place as a standout title in the Famicom library.
Ultimately, Nekketsu Kakutō Densetsu is not a game meant to be appreciated for its story, but for the experience it creates between players.
