《Guerrilla War》(日文名《ゲバラ》,台灣常稱「古巴戰爭」或「革命英雄」)是由SNK於1987年推出街機版,並在1988年移植至FC紅白機(Famicom / NES)的經典俯瞰式射擊遊戲。以其流暢的操作手感與強烈的戰場節奏,在當年眾多射擊遊戲中脫穎而出,成為8位元時代的重要代表作品之一。
在劇情設定上,以1956年的古巴革命為靈感藍本。玩家將化身為兩位歷史上的革命領袖——切·格瓦拉與菲德爾·卡斯特羅,目標是推翻由富爾亨西奧·巴蒂斯塔統治的獨裁政權,帶領人民走向解放。整體敘事帶有濃厚的現實政治色彩。不過在美版NES中,因冷戰時期的敏感背景,相關歷史與人物設定被全面修改,改為兩名無名士兵對抗虛構國家的獨裁者,使遊戲呈現出截然不同的敘事包裝。

Guerrilla War (known in Japanese as Guevara and often referred to as Guerrilla War or Revolution Hero) is a classic top-down shooter developed by SNK. Originally released in arcades in 1987 and later ported to the Famicom (NES) in 1988, the game stood out among its peers with its smooth controls and intense battlefield pacing, becoming a notable title of the 8-bit era.
The game’s story is inspired by the Cuban Revolution of 1956. Players take on the roles of two real historical figures—Che Guevara and Fidel Castro—as they fight to overthrow the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista and liberate the nation. The narrative carries strong political undertones rooted in real history. However, due to Cold War sensitivities, the NES version released in the United States removed all references to Cuba and real individuals, replacing them with two unnamed soldiers fighting against a fictional dictator in an unnamed country.
In terms of gameplay, Guerrilla War builds upon the vertical scrolling run-and-gun style of Ikari Warriors, but significantly improves its fluidity and pacing. Players must advance through waves of enemy fire while engaging in constant combat, culminating in boss battles at the end of each stage. A key feature is the hostage rescue system: saving hostages rewards players with bonus points, while accidentally harming them results in penalties, adding a layer of precision and risk to the shooting mechanics. Throughout the game, players can collect various weapon upgrades and even take control of tanks, greatly enhancing firepower and mobility. This combination of heavy firepower and vehicle-based combat would later influence the design of the Metal Slug series.
Critically, Guerrilla War is widely regarded as one of the finest arcade-to-console ports on the Famicom. Its strong visual presentation, responsive controls, and fast-paced combat were considered top-tier for the platform at the time. Compared to many notoriously difficult action games of its era, it offered a more balanced experience with satisfying firepower and accessible continues. Despite regional differences caused by political context, its revolutionary theme, hostage mechanics, and vehicle gameplay secured its place as a memorable and influential title in the history of shooting games.
