A serious financial fraud case fueled by greed and manipulation by illegal intermediaries, centering on a young man born in the 1990s, Xie Liangliang. Driven by the desire to get rich quickly, Xie was introduced by an old classmate to the so-called “professional debt bearer” business. Such schemes are advertised as “zero risk, high return,” claiming that as long as someone is willing to borrow under their own name, the intermediaries will handle the rest, and the borrower will receive a cut of the loan proceeds. What appeared to be an easy way to make money was, in reality, a carefully orchestrated scam.
With the intermediaries’ involvement, Xie was deliberately “packaged” to appear creditworthy. They fabricated bank statements, income certificates, and asset documents, presenting him as a “high-quality client” to win the banks’ trust. In 2022, using these forged credentials, Xie managed to secure loans totaling 39 million yuan from multiple banks. However, he personally received only about 6 million yuan, while the remaining 33 million yuan was siphoned off by the intermediaries under the guise of “service fees” and “handling charges.”
When the loans came due, Xie inevitably found himself unable to repay the enormous debts. The banks filed lawsuits, and the case was eventually confirmed in court. He was officially listed as a dishonest debtor (case number: (2022) Gan0104 Zhi Hui 69), with unpaid debts amounting to 39.35 million yuan. Ultimately, he was sentenced to two years in prison and fined more than 500,000 yuan. Beyond the criminal penalties, his personal credit was completely destroyed.
The consequences of being blacklisted as a defaulter extend far beyond the courtroom. Xie now faces restrictions on high-end consumption: he cannot purchase luxury property or vehicles, nor can he travel on high-speed trains in first-class or take flights. His professional development has also been severely compromised, as the stigma of dishonesty and the credit record collapse follow him for life. What he thought was an opportunity to get rich overnight has instead pushed his entire future into ruin.
This case highlights the dangerous mindset among some young people who seek shortcuts to wealth without considering risks, and it reveals how illegal intermediaries exploit forged documents to defraud financial institutions—leaving the so-called “debt bearer” to shoulder the consequences. It is not only a personal tragedy but also a warning to the financial system about the dangers of such fraudulent schemes, underscoring the urgent need for vigilance against the spread of these new forms of loan fraud.
