A shocking case has recently come to light in the United States, involving a 70-year-old retired Wall Street investment banker, Howie Rubin, and his 45-year-old former personal assistant, Jennifer Powers. Both have been arrested and indicted by the FBI on charges of luring, sexually assaulting, and abusing dozens of women over a span of nearly ten years. The case, which involves financial transactions, organized sexual exploitation, and brutal violence, has sent shockwaves through both the financial and entertainment industries. Some of the victims were reportedly former Playboy models.

According to the indictment, Rubin, who once held senior management positions at Soros Fund Management and Bear Stearns, lived a lavish life in Manhattan after retirement. Disturbingly, he rented a luxury penthouse near Central Park and converted one of the bedrooms into a soundproof “red dungeon,” equipped with bondage devices and electric torture instruments, specifically designed for abuse.

FBI investigators revealed that Rubin and Powers scouted young women through escort websites, modeling platforms, and social media. They lured victims with promises of large payments, presenting encounters as consensual sex work. In reality, the women were taken to luxury hotels or Rubin’s Manhattan residence, where they were subjected to brutal assaults. These acts included beatings, electric shocks, and forced sexual abuse. Although Rubin introduced a so-called “safe word,” he allegedly ignored it even when victims used it, continuing the assaults.

At least ten anonymous women have come forward, accusing Rubin of extreme brutality that left some with severe physical injuries and lasting psychological trauma, requiring ongoing treatment. Victims testified that after each encounter, Powers handled the aftermath, paying the women anywhere from a few hundred dollars to as much as $5,000, with the amount depending on Rubin’s “satisfaction” with the session.

Investigators estimate that Rubin’s exploitation network involved more than one million dollars over the years, indicating a systematic pattern rather than isolated incidents. The scale of the operation and the backgrounds of the victims—including models and women with ties to the entertainment industry—have amplified public outrage.

Both Rubin and Powers now face multiple serious charges, including sex trafficking, coercive sexual assault, and violent abuse. If convicted, they could receive lengthy prison sentences. The case not only exposes the hidden depravity of a once-prominent Wall Street figure but also reignites concerns over the dangers of escort websites, online exploitation, and the vulnerabilities women face in such networks.
