ECPay is a widely used third-party payment service provider in Taiwan. Its transaction fees vary depending on the payment method used. For general members, including individual sellers and business users, the platform charges a certain percentage or a fixed fee for each transaction. According to the company’s official announcement, some rates were adjusted starting on April 1, 2025. The main payment processing fees are generally structured as follows.

For credit card payments made with domestic cards, the platform charges a transaction fee of 2.75% per transaction, with a minimum fee of NT$5. If customers choose to pay through an ATM virtual account transfer, the fee is 1% of the transaction amount, with a minimum charge of NT$15 per transaction. For convenience store code payments, a fixed fee of NT$30 is charged for each transaction, while convenience store barcode payments cost NT$15 per transaction. In terms of mobile payments, Apple Pay has also been included as a supported payment method, and its full payment collection function has been available since April 1, 2025. The exact processing fees for this method should be confirmed through ECPay’s latest official announcements.

It is important to note that all the transaction fees mentioned above are quoted before tax. During settlement, an additional 5% business tax must be added. Therefore, merchants should take the tax component into account when calculating the actual cost of using the service.

In addition to transaction fees, there are several other potential costs associated with using ECPay’s payment services. For example, if a merchant withdraws funds from their ECPay account to a bank account that is not with Bank SinoPac, a cross-bank withdrawal fee of NT$15 per transaction will be charged. In some cases, accounts tied to certain contract types or those that remain inactive for a long period may also incur an account maintenance fee. In some situations, this fee may be approximately NT$500 per month, although the actual amount depends on the specific contract terms between the merchant and the platform.

Many merchants also use ECPay’s electronic invoice service. New users typically receive a certain number of free electronic invoice issuances during the first year, often around 20,000 invoices. If the number exceeds the free quota, or once the first year has passed, merchants may need to pay an additional annual fee or service charge.

Overall, the pricing structure of ECPay mainly consists of two components: transaction processing fees and additional service-related costs. For e-commerce businesses and online merchants, understanding the fee structure of different payment methods and the potential extra charges in advance can help them more accurately estimate operating costs and select the most suitable payment solutions.
